Like every fashionista, I have been watching all the new Resort lines like a hawk. Resort wear is fun because it’s that in-between time before September’s big Fashion Week. It’s usually a time for designers to experiment with their designs and have fun with materials, silhouettes, etc. I recently discovered Theyskens’ Theory and its designer, Olivier Theyskens…and I fell in love with his work.

He’s had an illustrious career, working for fashion houses Rochas and Nina Ricci. Now, he’s the creative director for Theory. Born in Belgium, Theyskens started sketching as a kid, and he decided at 7 years old that he wanted to do “haute couture.” I must say, those are big dreams for a child, but Theyskens set his mind to it and is now compared to all the big labels. I think he’s simply fabulous.
